The LVRT is a multi-phase project to convert unused railroad bed to usable walking and bicycling trail that has been funded to promote recreation in Northern Vermont. 100% completion of the trail will consist of several phases of construction over the next 4-5 years. Currently, a ~16mi stretch from Cambridge/Jeffersonville to Morrisville is complete and can be accessed from the Cambridge Jct Trail Head.
The Cambridge Junction Trail Head is located ~1mi East of the roundabout off of Rt 15, on Cambridge Jct Rd. Cambridge Jct Rd. is directly across from Jack F. Corse Fuels.
Below is a map indicating where the parking area is and a copy of the LVRT map. More information can be found at LVRT.org
LVRT Maintenance & Completion Donations
In 2017, the LVRT is launching the $3 million Capital Campaign which will generate the private funding necessary to finish and maintain the trail. All gifts to the LVRT are matched 4:1 by the Vermont Agency of Transportation and are tax deductible.
